Two weeks till Windy City Kink!
Yay! In only two weeks Sweet Obsession will be available!

I'm super excited about the release because it's the first book in a new series -- Windy City Kink. Now fear not, my books aren't all that kinky. :-)  But each couple in the series explores a slightly different fetish or kink. As always, my books are romantic and emotional and maybe even have a little humor. And hot. Yeah, hopefully hot.

Also there's one guy who appears in all three books who's a very unique character! I don't want to say too much because I want you all to meet him and hopefully love him.

The books are all set mainly in Chicago. I say mainly, because there is some travel involved in Book 2 and Book 3.

Book 1 Sweet Obsession is Sasha and Jack's story. I'll be talking more about them closer to release day, but they're an interesting couple. I didn't even know there was a name for their unique teenage exploration, but my editor told me about "lighters" - people who have an interest in BDSM even before puberty.

Book 2 All Messed Up is Mallory and Joe's story. They meet in the airport when their flight gets delayed - a moment (or a night) out of time. They'll never see each other again...riiiiiight. All Messed Up will be out in November.

Book 3 Playing with Fire (Warning - don't get attached to the title; I'm told I may have to change it) is Paige and Raff's story. Paige and Raff are both trying to escape their past, but Paige resists since Raff reminds her too much of her past. This book is planned for a January release.

Watch for cover reveals and more details about the series!

Hockey Romance Authors

Cassandra Carr is a multi-award winning romance writer. When not writing she enjoys watching hockey and hanging out online. Cassandra's books have won numerous "Best Book Of" awards and her novella Unexpected Top was nominated in the E-book Erotic Romance category of RT's Reviewers' Choice Awards.

She thinks the best part of being a writer is how she writes about love and sex while most others struggle with daily commutes, micro-managing bosses and cranky co-workers. Her inspiration comes from everywhere, but she'd particularly like to thank the Buffalo Sabres, the hockey team near and dear to her heart.

An advocate of happy endings, Jami writes sexy romantic comedy, sports hero
romances, and equestrian fiction. Jami lives on a small farm near Puget
Sound with her Green Beret-turned-plumber husband, a Newfoundland cross with a tennis ball fetish, a prince disguised as an orange tabby cat, and an
opinionated Hanoverian mare.

Jami works in IT for her day job and is a former high school business
teacher and dressage rider. In her spare time, she maintains her small farm
and socializes whenever the opportunity presents itself. An avid boater,
Jami has spent countless hours in the San Juan Islands, a common setting in
her books. In her opinion, it is the most beautiful place on earth.

Catherine Gayle is a bestselling author of Regency-set historical romance and contemporary hockey romance with a New Adult feel. She’s a transplanted Texan living in North Carolina with two extremely spoiled felines. In her spare time, she watches way too much hockey and reality TV, plans fun things to do for the Nephew Monster’s next visit, and performs experiments in the kitchen which are rarely toxic.

Lily Harlem is an award-winning author of contemporary erotic romance. She lives with her husband in the UK and since leaving a career in nursing writes full time. She is published by houses on both sides of the Atlantic including Ellora’s Cave and HarperCollins and also self-publishes her work.

Her Hot Ice series regularly receives high praise and industry nominations and she’s never happier than when she’s dreaming up the next story for her bad-boy heroes of fictional hockey team the Vipers. Usually when writing she’s accompanied by a cat on her lap and a dog at her feet, both rescued from the shelter and constant companions.

Her writing has been described as “emotionally complex”, “sweet and satisfying” and “blisteringly sexy”. If she can stop herself from reading or writing, she loves to cook. She has shelves of cookbooks that she reads at length. She also enjoys gardening in the summer, and in the winter she likes to read gardening magazines and seed catalogues (there might be a theme here...) She also loves shopping, especially for clothes and shoe, and of cours, watching  hockey games.

She shares her life with her husband, her daughter, one dog, two cats, a steer named Mooka, and a flock of assorted domestic fowl. She is a proud Torquere Press and Secret Cravings Publishing author. When not writing romantica tales, she can be found enjoying her day with her menagerie in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania with a cup of fresh java in hand.

Toni Aleo is the author of the Nasvhille Assassins series.

When not rooting for her beloved Nashville Predators, she’s probably going to her husband’s and son’s hockey games and her daughter’s dance competitions, taking pictures, scrapbooking, or reading the latest romance novel. She lives in the Nashville area with her husband, two children, and a bulldog.

Suzan Butler is a romantic fiction author with a penchant for Dr. Pepper, ice hockey, and world domination.

She lives in Texas under a not-so-secret identity with two monsters, writing books and planning the next step in her evil plans into the twilight hours of the night because that’s when it’s quiet in the house.

Bianca Sommerland http://www.im-no-angel.com

Bianca Sommerland was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. When not reading neurotically or writing as though the fate of the world rests on her keyboard, she is either watching hockey or teaching her daughters the beauty of a classic, steel pony while reminiscing about her days in Auto Body Mechanics.

Her time is balanced with utmost care between normal family life, and the internal paranormal realm where her characters reside. For the most part, she succeeds.

Here's a short snippet featuring the wine tasting scene Jason talks about:

He descended to his kitchen and returned with two beers. He handed her one and slid back into bed, propping pillows behind them, one arm around her. Keeping the conversation carefully off his past, they talked about his house, his neighbor, the weather. When he pressed kisses over her skin anywhere he could reach, her shoulder, the side of her neck, breathing in her scent, she giggled.
It was a sound he hadn’t heard enough of from her. He liked it. He tipped her chin up. “What’s so funny?”
She slanted a grin at him over her shoulder. “Your mouth is cold. And the beers reminded me of an old joke.”
He lifted one eyebrow, smiling back at her, delighted by her amusement.
“How you impress a woman,” she continued. “By complimenting her, kissing her, cuddling her. Send her flowers, hold her, wine her and dine her.”
“Uh huh.” He waited.
“And how you impress a man is―show up naked…with beer.”
He laughed. “Hmm. Works for me.”
Her eyes widened. “Hey. I have a case of wine in the trunk of my car.”
He grinned and stroked a strand of hair off her face. “Why do you have a case of wine in your trunk?”
“I don’t even remember now. But I’ll go get a bottle. It’s a really nice Cabernet Franc. I can give you a wine tasting lesson. Naked.” She shot him a sexy smile as he watched her roll out of bed and reach for her clothes.
He loved that idea.
“Don’t get dressed,” he said, following her out of bed. “I’ll go get the wine.”
So she grabbed his shirt instead of her own clothes and he stepped into a pair of loose sweat pants. In his shirt, big and loose on her slender frame, her hair tangled around her shoulders, lips kiss-swollen and eyes smudgy, she looked so goddamn sexy he wanted to tackle her and throw her back onto the bed and tie her up forever. Instead, he led the way down to his kitchen where her purse sat on the counter. She handed him the keys to her car with a smile and waited at the door as he retrieved the bottle.
He held it up as he came back into the kitchen. “I don’t have wine, but I do have wine glasses.” He opened the cupboard and pulled out two stemmed glasses.
“A corkscrew?” she asked, peeling off the wrapping on the top of the bottle. He pulled that out of a drawer too, and she handed the wine to him.
He let her pour the wine into the glasses, a deep ruby-plum color. She gave the glass a small, expert swirl, held it to her nose, then sipped it.
“You’re not going to spit it out, are you?” he asked. He didn’t know much about wine, but seemed to remember that tasting wine didn’t involve swallowing it.
“No, I’m not going to spit it out.” She gave him a flirty smile. “I’d rather swallow than spit.”
Jesus, Kendall Vioget had just made a dirty joke, with enough innuendo that his balls tightened. Nice.

FALL-ing in Love - with Rhythm of Three!

It's release day for Rhythm of Three!

As you may know, Rhythm of Three is a follow up story to Rule of Three. I got so many emails from readers wanting to know more about Chris and Kassidy and Dag, and I did feel when I was writing the book that there was more to their story. So I finally did it.

Rhythm of Three picks up right where Rule of Three ended. All three know they want to be together, but they also know there will be challenges to their unique lifestyle. Kassidy also has unresolved issues with her sister that seemed hopeful at the end of Rule of Three.

One woman, two lovers. Double the pleasure, or double the trouble?

Rule of Three, Book 2

Former goodie-two-shoes Kassidy now has three pairs of shoes under her bed—hers, Chris’s and Dag’s. While she relishes the hot threesome that makes her friends jealous, she can’t deny things are…complicated. Namely, whom to tell about their unconventional relationship, and whom to keep in the dark.

In the dark category? Definitely Chris’s parents, which should be simple, since they live far away. Except they’ve sprung a surprise for their son’s thirtieth birthday. They’re coming for a visit. Then there’s Kassidy’s best friend Danielle, who’s home from Europe, clueless to recent events, and flirting with Dag like crazy.

Awkward!

Family, friends, coworkers and a wedding put three lovers’ best intentions to the test, making them wonder if this unique brand of love has a chance in hell of working out.

Product Warnings
Contains three vulnerable hearts engaged in a ménage a trois, some man-on-man action, sizzling exchanges of graphic language, and rock-your-socks explicit sex. So yeah, it’s dirty, but also sweet.

Here's a short excerpt from Rhythm of Three:

She hadn’t actually bought Chris his gift, but gave him a picture of it inside a birthday card—the office furniture he wanted from IKEA. They’d looked at it for the room that was going to be his office, but hadn’t gotten around to buying it.

He leaned over to kiss her, eyes warm. He cupped her jaw. “Thanks, sweetheart.”

“We can go pick it up this weekend,” she said. “And then you two men can spend the rest of the weekend building it.”

Chris grinned. He didn’t mind doing stuff like that.

“Build IKEA furniture?” Dag asked. He sat on the other side of Chris on their couch, holding a glass of expensive Shiraz he’d picked up that day. “How domesticated.”

“Deal with it, buddy,” Chris muttered. “You are becoming domesticated.”

Dag grinned.

Then Chris opened Dag’s present, a small wrapped box.

The gift brought tears to Kassidy’s eyes, and Dag and Chris almost too. It was a pendant—a short silver chain in a chunky interlocking style with a silver charm on it, round, with a swirling design. There was a little card about the designer which said the charm was called Trilogy, to signify the intertwining of the heart, mind and spirit.

“But I think it symbolizes the intertwining of three hearts, minds and spirits,” Dag explained, watching Chris stare at the gift.

Oh my God. Oh my God. Her heart squeezed so hard it hurt, stealing her breath. Chris kept his head bent, no doubt to hide the emotions on his face, and nodded. She laid a hand on his.

“Too soon?” Dag asked, not getting any response. “No worries if it is. And I know you don’t wear a lot of jewelry, so, you know, it’s cool if you don’t wear it.”

She looked at Dag and blinked hard at the moisture gathering in her eyes. He leaned back in the corner of the couch in a relaxed pose, holding his glass of red wine, but the faint tightness at the corners of his eyes and mouth revealed his tension.

She swallowed through a constricted throat. It was true, Chris didn’t wear a lot of jewelry. But this was sturdy and masculine and beautiful. And meaningful.

Chris cleared his throat and picked it up from the glossy black box it sat in. He unfastened it and lifted it around his neck. It took a few seconds to get the clasp done up again and Kassidy shifted behind him to help.

“There,” she whispered.

He laid his fingers flat over the charm and met Dag’s eyes. “It’s great,” he said, voice gruff. “Thanks.”

The skin around Dag’s eyes softened and the corners of his mouth lifted. “You’re welcome.”

And then Chris leaned over and kissed Dag, just as he’d kissed Kassidy in thanks for her gift.
She swallowed again, but now smiling. “Okay,” she said. “Enough smoochy stuff. Now we have something really important to discuss.”

The two guys looked at her.

“What?” Chris asked.

“Everything okay, babe?” Dag added.

“No, it is not. You all are not living in a frat house. If I see one more gob of toothpaste or beard whisker in the sink, I’m gonna lose my shit. Tomorrow, we’re going to do a tutorial on how to properly clean the sink.”

Dag grinned. “I’ll watch your tutorial,” he said, “if you promise to do it naked.

FALL-ing in Love - with Mari Carr and Status Update

Release days are always fun, but the fact that I’m sharing this one with the incredible Kelly Jamieson makes it even better! I was so pleased when I discovered my newest Samhain story, Status Update, was releasing with Kelly’s Rhythm of Three. Kelly and I have had the opportunity to hang out at conferences in the past. She is fun, funny and absolutely lovely!
Status Update is the third book in a series of stories revolving around my Wine Girls (Kelly should be in this club given her love of vino—lol). I really enjoy writing books that are part of a series because it allows me to get so much deeper into the heads/lives of my characters. Their story isn’t limited to just one book. In this series, all the characters continue to appear in the other books, so I don’t have to say goodbye to them with the words The End.
The Second Chances series has been a really cool challenge for me as an author because all six of the stories take place during the same year. I swear my notes about who was where when are longer than the actual books…and I’m only halfway through the series! LOL. Fix You and Full Moon were the first two books and they are available now.
Today, Kelly invited me to share a spicy snippet of Status Update with y’all. Be sure to stop by my blog because Kelly was my guest yesterday and she shared a bit of Rhythm of Three!
Excerpt:
“Are you happy?”
Laura didn’t know how to reply. When she’d finally gotten up the nerve to ask Mason for a divorce, happiness had been her goal. She’d spent years in a relationship with a man who had no capacity for joy. Laura suspected he was bipolar—or perhaps suffering from depression—but Mason insisted he was fine, refused to go to the doctor and blamed her for his inherent unhappiness. For years, his misery took its toll. She’d left Mason because she wanted to be happy again. But was she?
Bryan interrupted her thoughts. “I’m sorry. I didn’t realize that was a hard question.”
“Let’s just say I’m searching for my happiness.”
“Is that why you’re here tonight? Forgive me for saying it, but this doesn’t seem like it would be your normal environment.”
Laura laughed. “It’s not. At all. My friends dragged me along. And yeah, I think this is part of my quest to rediscover the Laura I used to be. The one who laughed and danced and enjoyed life.”
Bryan studied her face. “Is it working?”
Laura’s face hurt from smiling. She was tipsy, relaxed and she’d laughed more tonight than in the entire previous year. Running into Bryan after so many years apart was the cherry on top of an excellent evening. “Yeah. It is.”
“Good.”
The band announced they were taking a short break. Trina walked over to join them. “Hey, Dad. Thanks,” she said as Bryan handed her the glass of water. “What did you think of that set?”
“Best one of the night.”
Trina beamed at her father’s praise. “Wait ’til you hear the last set.”
Bryan turned toward her. “Trina, I’d like you to meet my best friend from high school. This is Laura Riley.”
“Sanders.” Laura corrected him softly. She was still torn over whether or not to take her maiden name back. With her kids grown and out of school, she couldn’t think of a reason not to, but given Katie’s unhappiness over the divorce, Laura hadn’t wanted to add yet another upset to an injury that wasn’t healing very fast.
“Sanders,” Bryan corrected.
“You’re an incredible musician, Trina. Your music has blown me away. My daughter would absolutely love that song you played a little bit earlier. Was it called ‘Soul’?”
“’My Soul’,” Trina said. “I wrote that.”
“No way! That was my favorite song of the night.”
Trina smiled. “We’re getting ready to cut our first CD in a couple weeks and I wasn’t sure if I should push for that song to be included. Now I think I will.”
“I’d buy your CD for that song.”
“Wow. Thanks, Ms. Sanders.”
“Call me Laura.”
Someone called Trina’s name and she turned toward the stage. “I have to get back up there. We’re trying to figure out which song to finish with.” Trina gave Bryan a quick kiss on the cheek. “Nice to meet you, Laura.”
“You too.”
While the band was on a break, a canned recording of dance music blared through the speakers. Will Smith’s “Switch” came on.
“Oh my God, I love this song.”
Bryan grinned and pointed to the dance floor. “Should we show these young kids how it’s done?”
Laura raised her hand to refuse. “Hell no. I’ve been told my dancing is out of style.”
“Screw ’em.” Bryan took her hand, dragging her into the throng of bodies. He grasped her waist, pulling her close. They began to move in time to the music, their gazes connected. Laura laughed when he spun her, mimicking the other dancers around them with the same bumping and grinding moves. Funny how the same too-close contact with the man-child Kevin had squicked her out, but with Bryan it was awakening all sorts of dirty desires.
Laura let the alcohol, the music, the flashing lights and the heat take over as she moved sinuously against Bryan. Her libido kicked in with a vengeance, taking her unaware. His hands on her waist reminded her of a time when sex was exciting, fun, something she looked forward to. How long had it been since she felt this way?
She twisted, wrapping her arms around Bryan’s shoulders, laughing when he placed a firm hand on her lower back and pushed her into a dip that was so sexual and hot, Laura couldn’t believe they weren’t setting off the smoke detectors.
“You look beautiful, Laura. How the hell did I miss this in high school? If I hadn’t been such a blind fool, I’d have been on you like white on rice.”
She rolled her eyes, grinning at his compliment. “We became friends when both of us were in the awkward middle school stage. Somehow I don’t think we ever managed to overlook that. You look incredible too, by the way.”
He was sexy as sin. She wondered how he’d respond if she ran her hand along his chest, maybe letting it drift even lower until she found his cock. Would he enjoy such an inappropriate touch? Would he accept an invitation to come back to her place for more?
Shit. She was starting to sound like Josie who’d developed a must-have-sex-soon obsession lately. Time to rein in the hormones.
Laura hadn’t lied about their geeky looks in school. She’d gone through a very unattractive Dorothy Hamill hairstyle phase, complete with braces, while Bryan had sported a crew cut and thick glasses. Neither of them had managed to outgrow that unattractiveness until sophomore year. By then, the friendship was solid, and neither of them was interested in messing with the status quo.
She was tempted now. Holy crap, was she tempted.
Bryan’s hands slid along her waist, finding the tiny bit of skin revealed by her lifted arms. Was she imagining the sensual stroke of his fingers?
Wishful thinking?
He pulled her closer, their faces only inches apart. Heat coursed through her. Sure, the room was warm from so many gyrating bodies in a small space, but she didn’t think it was the exercise or crowd that was leaving her so hot and bothered.
She ran her fingers through Bryan’s shaggy salt and pepper hair. He’d lost the crew cut and embraced the waves he’d cursed during their younger years. His face had matured, as he’d shed the clean-cut boy-next-door look. His jaw was rough with a five o’clock shadow and there were laugh lines around his eyes that gave his face character. In a word, he was handsome.
And she was completely attracted to him.
She wasn’t sure where those feelings were coming from. She’d sworn with her divorce that she was finished with men. Laura had had enough male moodiness and so-so sex to last her a lifetime. She’d declared good riddance and hadn’t questioned that decision.
Until now. Her sex drive had reemerged, screaming out loud and clear that it wasn’t finished yet.
Bryan’s hand slipped beneath her blouse, touching her bare back, using his strength to guide them in the dance.
It was sex to music, just as Georgie said. Laura pressed her hips closer, unsurprised to feel Bryan’s hard cock. He studied her face, then winked.
Her smile grew. “You always were a shameless flirt.”
“And you were always ready to take a walk on the wild side.”
Laura turned her face away, staring at the dancers without seeing them. She couldn’t remember being that person, but as Bryan’s hands roamed over her skin, she wanted to escape the bonds of practicality. She longed to be uninhibited, carefree…wild.
“Hey, Laura!”
Laura caught sight of Kristen approaching her, shoving her way through the crowd.
“We’re getting ready to go. Georgie overindulged on the shots and I’m afraid it’s not going to end well. Jason and Nick offered to drive us home. Okay?”
Laura stepped away from Bryan. “Sure. Give me a minute?”
Kristen took a long look at Bryan, then gave her a surprised, but approving, smile. “I’ll give you two if you make sure to get his phone number.”
Bryan chuckled at Kristen’s matchmaking as she walked away. “Exchanging phone numbers sounds like a good idea to me.”
Bryan led Laura back to where her friends were waiting. Georgie was definitely past the point of no return as Nick held her up. Kristen and Jason were settling the tab. “Looks like we better roll. Will you really join Facebook? There are quite a few of our friends from school on there and…” She paused, wondering if she was being too forward.
“And?” he prompted.
“I can send you my phone number through a private message.”
He nodded. “Yeah. I’ll join. Might be fun to see what some of the gang is up to. And I’d like to see you again. Catch up.”
“Laura?” Kristen said. “Ready?”
“Yeah.” Laura pointed her finger, making a circle around her face. “I’ll Facebook you.”
He laughed at her silly gesture, then put his pinky and thumb to his mouth and ear, mimicking a phone. “I’ll call you.”

Status Update – Blurb
Some things never change. Others never stay the same. Thank God.
Second Chances, Book 3
Laura Sanders thought post-divorce life would be simple. What a rude awakening to realize that after too many years as a wife and mother, she’s stuck in a rut so deep she’s forgotten how to have fun.
Determined that this year will be different, she sets a New Year’s goal to rediscover the woman she used to be—the one who loved to dance, to laugh, to kiss.
When Bryan Sinclair spots his best friend from high school in the Blue Moon bar, he wonders how the hell he failed to notice her beauty and vitality all those years ago. Laura’s confession that she plans to experience lost opportunities tempts him into joining her on the journey.
