Now available: Felt Tips!
I can't say this was the craziest project I've ever worked on. That honor would have to go to the parodies I penned along with the other Nine Naughty Novelists. But when I saw Tiffany Reisz Tweeting about this idea, I had to laugh, thinking it was a joke. When she said I should contribute a story, I laughed more. I can't write short stories. But then I got this idea...and I wrote the story over my lunch hour at work one day. It was one of those things that reminds me why I love to write - it's FUN! And here it is - not a joke! A real anthology of forty erotic stories by different authors. Proceeds are going to charity  - check it out!

Merry Menage!
Welcome to the Merry Ménage Blog Hop!

For those who don't know me, I write hot romance and yes, some of them feature Ménage à trois romances. Now, that can mean a variety of things - that can be a one-time sexy threesome;  or a long-term committed ménage à trois relationship. It can be two girls and a guy, or two guys and a girl (or three of the same sex, although I've never written that :-)

The first ménage book I wrote was an F/F/M ménage (Love Me) about a woman who’s a little bi-curious and gets carried away with some girl on girl flirting. (STEAMY FACTOID: Although a few readers considered what she did to be cheating on her partner, a recent survey by Glamour Magazine indicates that 86% of men would not consider it cheating if their partner made out with another woman.) Isn’t the F/F/M ménage the ubiquitous fantasy, especially for men? But hey, lots of women are curious too.

Then I realized how popular the “two men, one woman” fantasy is. (And how hot it is.) So I decided to try writing one of those. My first ménage book with two men was Conference Call, a M/F/M ménage where a threesome spontaneously happens while they’re all away at a conference. Two of the three go on to have a relationship, but probably never another threesome. That’s the one-time-only threesome that will never happen again

Then I saw the popularity of the M/M/F fantasy (and M/M romance in general) and I decided to explore that too. In that first M/M/F ménage (2 Hot 2 Handle) the men were a committed couple who wanted a woman to complete their relationship. The three of them live together happily ever after.
Now, I have to say in my mind, the “HEA for all three” story is a little unrealistic. Or even a lot unrealistic. Sure, from the woman’s perspective, having two men around would be a good thing when the furnace breaks down or the car has a flat tire. I know my husband isn’t around enough to keep up with all the household repairs that need doing. A second husband could be great. And that’s not even in bed! If you like men, why wouldn’t two be better than one? Two mouths for kissing, nibbling and sucking. Four hands for caressing and rubbing and exploring. Nice. With two guys, stamina (ahem) wouldn’t be an issue. Think of the multiple orgasms!

But from the men’s perspective? Seriously, how many dudes are willing to share their woman with another guy?

In real life, I think it’s pretty far-fetched. As a writer, though, that just challenges me to write that story and make it believable!
My two most recent menage books are One Wicked Night and Rule of Three. Both are M/M/F menage stories, but again they're different. In One Wicked Night, the men were in a relationship of sorts, but didn’t expect to spend their lives together. Tyler always figured one day he’d meet a woman he’d fall in love with, get married and have kids. I won’t give away the story by telling the ending. In Rule of Three, a man and a woman are a committed couple and a second man joins in.

And my next ménage book coming out in January, With Strings Attached, involves another threesome that doesn’t end in a committed relationship between all three. This kind of scenario seems more realistic to me, but the popularity of the HEA for all three characters can’t be denied.

One type of ménage story I haven’t written is F/M/F. Somehow from the woman’s perspective that doesn’t seem so appealing, and assuming most readers of romance are women, that one might not go over so well.

What’s your preference? F/F/M? M/F/M? M/M/F?

I'm giving away winner's choice of any of my ménage stories - check my website to find out more!

Bad sex awards!
Shocked young man
http://www.flickr.com/photos/24933501@N06/2352022690/
Yes! It's that time again! The nominees for the bad sex in writing awards have been announced!

The Guardian article noted that EL James is not  one of the finalists - because erotic literature is excluded from this contest. I fully support that - good lord, if you want to read GOOD sex then you read erotic literature. (Not that EL James necessarily writes great sex. Just saying.)

Here are my favourite nominees!

Back to Blood, by Tom Wolfe Now his big generative jockey was inside her pelvic saddle, riding, riding, riding, and she was eagerly swallowing it swallowing it swallowing it with the saddle's own lips and maw — all this without a word.  (This is metaphor waaaay to extended and gone very, very wrong.)

Rare Earth by Paul Mason He began thrusting wildly in the general direction of her chrysanthemum, but missing — his paunchy frame shuddering with the efford of remaining rigid and upside down. (Another metaphor that’s a miss – chrysanthemum???)

The Yips by Nicola Barker She smells of almonds, like a plump Bakewell pudding; and he is the spoon, the whipped cream, the helpless dollop of warm custard. (Is this really about sex? Out of context, I guess I have to take their word for it.)

The Divine Comedy by Craig Raine And he came. Like a wubbering springboard. His ejaculate jumped the length of her arm. Eight diminishing gouts. The first too high for her to lick. Right on the shoulder. (More imagery that makes me shudder. Or should that be wubber?)

You can read all the nominees here. http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2012/nov/20/bad-sex-award-2012-shortlist

Updates!
 Photo: And...more proof!

As many of you may know, last week I went to New Orleans for a few days with 7 of the Nine Naughty Novelists (there were 8 of us in total there). We had an absolute blast sightseeing and writing and brainstorming. Yes, we actually worked! We made some plans for 2013, talked about what we want to do with the blog and ideas for events. Some shared their writing career plans, what they're working on and where they want to go. We even did some writing, all lined up with our laptops at the big dining room table in the condo we had.

We also had fun, though, eating beignets and crawfish and shrimp and fried green tomatoes and grits, and drinking hurricanes. It was my first trip to New Orleans and I loved it! The atmosphere on Bourbon Street Saturday night was crazy! I love the history of it, the European feel of the narrow cobblestone streets and old buildings. We saw the Mississippi and I took a tour of the Garden District and a cemetery, and saw some of the remaining destruction caused by Katrina.

JuniperBell/Jennifer Bernard, Skylar Kade, Kate Davies and me

The eight of us all plan to write a short story set in New Orleans for the blog, and I was so inspired I already wrote mine, so watch for that! I can't wait to read the others.

And now it's back to reality. I've just finished up a manuscript that I'm putting the polishing touches on before setting it aside to rest. I also just sent a revised manuscript to my Samhain editor. This book is already contracted, but needed a few changes. It's called How To Love and will be out in the spring.

My next release, With Strings Attached, is already available for pre-order at Amazon, if you're an Amazon shopper, and it looks like someone is buying it, as it's already climbing in the rankings! That just blows my mind!

And if you didn't see the cover reveal, here's the lovely cover for it:

And also while we were in  New Orleans, Meg Benjamin, Erin Nicholas and I (sadly Sydney Somers wasn't able to be there) discussed promo ideas for our Promise Harbor Wedding series that will be out March/April. We have some fun ideas for that including an on-line bachelorette party!

Cover reveal! With Strings Attached

Here it is! The beautiful cover for my next release..... This is the first book of a three book series called San Amaro Singles. San Amaro, California - where the locals' leisure time involves sun, sand and surf. And maybe sex! With Strings Attached will be out January, 2013.

Here's the blurb for it, too!

The melting point is where it all comes together…or makes a big mess.

With Strings Attached
© 2013 Kelly Jamieson

San Amaro Singles, Book 1

Corey Fenwick keeps her bitter past as hidden as the sweet centers inside the handmade chocolates she sells to a growing list of upscale customers. Experience has taught her the only person she can rely on is herself, so her best-friends-with-benefits relationship with Matt is perfect—no strings attached.

After his last girlfriend deemed him “boring”, Matt Ferber watched her ride off on the back of a Harley with a rock musician. Figuring he’s doomed to “let’s just be friends” with the women he cares about, the arrangement with Corey suits him fine too. Until his old friend Dylan Schell rolls into town to hang out while recovering from a surfing injury.

The sexy bad boy makes Corey’s mouth water, and she figures a harmless fling won’t hurt, especially when Dylan suggests she come between him and Matt—in bed.

It’s a win-win-win situation…until somehow there are strings attached. And too late they realize they’re getting all tangled up.

Warning: This book contains an independent woman, two hot guys, some trash talking, a little jealousy, a few beers, chocolate body paint and scary stuff like falling in love.

Now in print: ONE WICKED NIGHT
One Wicked Night is now available in print!

I think this book has to be my bestselling book ever. And I've been so thrilled with reviews I've gotten for it, one of them this 5 STAR review from Long and Short Reviews:
"The plot in this story was just as extraordinary as the characters. From the wedding of Tyler’s sister, to the romance between the main characters, to a family torn - the author really incorporated everything. It made this story a very easy read, which seemed to make time fly. I was so enthralled by the storyline I quickly found myself at the end of the story and still wanting more.

It has been a while since I have found a story to truly entrance me and for that, I have to rate this story a 5 and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a great romance novel with a little kink."

Also check out the author blurb on the front cover - if you can see it! Carly Phillips! Yay!

Guest blogger: Ann Grant
Please welcome Ann Grant to my blog, to talk about her new release, Saving Grace!

Hello and thanks for having me here!

While Kelly writes steamy romance, I write women's fiction. Saving Grace is a love story - but it's a love story between a husband and a wife as they are forced to face the problems in their marriage by a seemingly minor accident. There are also some pretty steamy scenes between Grace and Rob!

There's also a lot of humor in Saving Grace. Despite the serious topics, like chronic pain syndrome, anxiety disorders and marital breakdown, Grace is a funny woman (I think, lol!) As she goes through this journey she reflects on how she got to this point in her life, especially at the point where she seems to have lost everything - her husband, her kids, maybe her job. But Grace is a strong, smart woman, and comes to see how she's contributed to the disintegration of her life.

For those of us who are married and have been for a while, we know how that spark sometimes fades. How husbands and wives start to take each other for granted. How we don't show appreciation for each other, even though we still love each other. We take on roles in our marriage and sometimes those work really well, and sometimes they don't. And when one partner is feeling dissatisfied but keeps it all tightly contained inside, those feelings can come out in dangerous, destructive ways.

When Grace falls down the stairs on a typical busy morning trying to get her family out the door to school and work, her injuries are pretty bad. But everyone believes she'll get better quickly. She's young and healthy - why wouldn't she? But she doesn't get better and minor injuries turn into a  life-changing disorder called chronic pain syndrome. She descends into a downward spiral of doctor-shopping, addiction and denial. But she has a lot to fight for, and eventually she does. She fights for Rob and in the end, he fights for her too.

Have you ever been in a relationship where one or both of you started to take each other for granted? How did you deal with that?

Here's a short excerpt from Saving Grace:

I nodded, his fingers still on my bare skin, sending little sparking shivers over me.
He leaned forward slowly, and I closed my eyes as his mouth touched mine, so gentle and warm. I opened for him and kissed him back, a long, soft kiss full of questions and hesitant desire.
His hand came back up to my face, holding me while we kissed, our mouths moving against each other. His tongue licked inside my mouth softly, and I touched my tongue to his. He gave a little groan and slid his hand around to the back of my head, into my hair, holding me tighter.
I realized I was still holding my cup of coffee, and I pulled back and leaned over to set the cup on the table. I turned back to him, and again, our eyes met. I had a million wordless questions that I sought answers for in his eyes, but all I saw there were more questions.
Then we were kissing again, deeper, hungrier, and he pulled me up against him. I gave a little gasp, of both pain and pleasure, and he lifted his mouth from mine.
“Are you okay?”
“God, no,” I gasped. I grabbed his neck and pulled his head back down to mine, seeking his mouth, almost crawling into his lap.
He made a muffled sound and wrapped his arms around me, holding me close. It felt incredibly good to be held by him, so big and strong and warm. His heart thudded in his broad chest pressed against mine, and his hands trembled just a little as they moved over me.
When his hand closed over my breast, I arched into it, aching and needy. We kissed more, mouths wet and sliding. He tasted faintly like coffee and smelled so good, like him, the sporty aftershave that he’d used forever. I moaned into his mouth, and his fingers tightened on my breast.
My skin was hot and tight, my clothes constricting. I wanted to rip them off and rub my naked body against his. Then his hands slid beneath the T-shirt onto my bare skin and I quivered with pleasure. He slid his mouth from mine, down the side of my neck, and sucked a little. Oh, God.
It was like we were back in college, making out on the couch, and it was so hot I was afraid we were going to melt the furniture. My head fell back to let him lick my throat, my whole body shivering with delight.
I wanted to feel his skin, too, and I pulled at his shirt until I found the bottom of it and pushed it up. I slid my hands up over his chest, over the hard muscles and crisp hair there.
“Ah, Christ, Grace,” he muttered, and he nipped my shoulder and made me jump. Then he moved back and grabbed hold of the hem of my shirt and pulled it up and over my head, leaving me sitting there in my bra.
He eyed the new turquoise lace bra appreciatively. Well, it was no longer new, but he hadn’t seen it.
“My panties match it,” I told him in a not very subtle invitation.
He groaned. “Grace,” he said. “You’re so sexy.”
And here I thought he’d been admiring my lingerie. My heart squeezed a little and softened. He pushed me down, gently, onto my back and leaned over me to undo the button of my jeans and tug down the zipper. I lifted my hips (now all those pelvic tilts paid off) to allow him to draw off my jeans.
“Very nice,” he said.
“The panties?” I clarified. His mouth curved up.
“The panties too,” he said. “Very pretty.”
“I still have a lump,” I whispered, suddenly self-conscious.
“Huh? A lump?”
“On my hip. It’s still not gone. It’s gross.”
He examined my hip and rolled his eyes. “It’s barely noticeable,” he said. Then he bent and kissed it. “Does it hurt?”
“No.”
He pressed a kiss to the little lace panel that covered my curls. My fingers curled into fists at my sides. I was breathless, excited, dizzy. I yearned for him to touch me more there. It had been so, so long. I struggled to open my eyes to look at him. His face was tight, his eyes dark, his beautiful mouth open just slightly as he gazed down at my body.
“I don’t know how I could have forgotten,” he said, his voice low and husky, “just how gorgeous and sexy you are.”

News!
Okay we're all set to announce exciting news about a new series coming from Samhain Publishing!

Wedding cake 1
From cakes2011
We're not 100% sure of the series title yet, but it involves a wedding...sort of...that takes place in Promise Harbor, Massachusetts (Population 20,121). (And I still can't type Massachusetts without using Spellcheck.)

There are four connected stories:   JILTED (written by ME!) BOLTED (written by Meg Benjamin) BUSTED (written by Sydney Somers) and HITCHED (written by Erin Nicholas).

Release dates as always are tentative, but the plan is to release the books close together in March and April 2013! We're totally excited about this project, which has been in the works for longer than we probably want to even say, but 2012 was the year we all buckled down and did it. I for one, having read the other three books, can say I LOVE them all and this is gonna be great! Stay tuned for more details!
